Works with
ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini

When to use it

  • Your website says what everyone else's says.
  • You have customer feedback and know who you compete with.

When not to

  • To claim you're "the best" or "the only". It only uses what you can back up.

What to have ready

  • What you offer and who for
  • What customers say about you, such as reviews or emails
  • What makes you different, as you see it
  • Competitors' websites or wording, pasted in

The prompt

Fill in the [BRACKETS], then paste it into ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini.

› the prompt
You're helping me work out what makes my business different, using real evidence. Write drafts for me to check.

What we offer and who for: [E.G. BOOKKEEPING FOR TRADES BUSINESSES IN BRISTOL]
What customers say about us: [PASTE REVIEWS, EMAILS OR FEEDBACK]
What I think makes us different: [YOUR VIEW]
What competitors say about themselves: [PASTE WORDING FROM 2 OR 3 COMPETITOR WEBSITES]

Please:
1. Sum up who we serve and the problem we solve, from what I've given you.
2. List what's genuinely different about us, and the evidence for each point.
3. Compare us only with the competitor wording I've pasted.
4. Write three short versions of "why choose us", each from a different angle.
5. For each, say what it's based on and what I should test or check.

Rules:
- Use only what I've given you. Don't invent reviews, results, awards or facts.
- No "best", "only", "number one" or guarantees unless I can prove them.
- Anything I publish is a draft for me to check first.

Example input

A made-up example of what the brackets might say.

Offer: bookkeeping for contractors in Portland. Customers say: "Finally someone who understands CIS", and "She answers the phone." I think: we speak builder, not accountant. Competitors: "Professional, reliable bookkeeping services." "Your trusted financial partner."

Tips

  • Customers' own words are often the best. Look for phrases that come up more than once.
  • Try your favorite version on your homepage, then ask a few customers if it sounds like you.
