Review your open deals

What to do next on each open deal, and what you don't know yet.

Best for
Owners and whoever handles sales
Est. time saved
60–90 minutes per review
Works with
ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini

When to use it

  • You have a handful of open quotes or deals and no clear next step on each.
  • You want a weekly sales check-in that takes minutes, not an hour.

When not to

  • To update your CRM or contact anyone automatically.

What to have ready

  • A list of open deals: where each stands and when you last spoke
  • Anything you owe them or they owe you
  • Any dates that matter

The prompt

Fill in the [BRACKETS], then paste it into ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini.

› the prompt
You're helping me decide what to do next on each of my open deals. This is for me to review. Don't contact anyone or change any records.

My open deals (one per line: who, where it stands, last contact, anything owed by either side, dates that matter):
[PASTE YOUR LIST]

Please:
1. For each deal, list what we know and what we don't.
2. Suggest one next step for each, and why. If there isn't enough to go on, the next step is to find out.
3. Put the list in order: first anything we promised and haven't done, then anything with a date coming up, then everything else.
4. List any deal where my notes don't add up.
5. List any deal that needs no action yet, and why.

Rules:
- Use only what I've given you. Don't invent deal values, chances of winning, dates or promises.
- Don't rank anyone on personal things like age, gender, religion, ethnicity, nationality or disability.
- Anything meant for a customer is a draft for me to check first.

Example input

A made-up example of what the brackets might say.

Dental practice (Hannah): quote reviewed, last contact 28 July, we owe a one-page plan by 2 August. Solicitors' office (Rob): first call done 30 July, they want a workshop of 2 hours at most, we owe a workshop plan by 4 August. Yoga studio (Lucy): quote sent 20 June, no reply since, nothing owed.

Tips

  • Do this once a week, at the same time. It takes minutes once the list is up to date.
  • Next, draft the follow-ups with "Follow up after a call or quote".
